I open the handover file before bed.
On the night before leaving her job, she opens the handover file and starts adding questions no one has asked yet.
As she prepares to leave her job, Yujin edits the handover document in bed, facing on one screen both the deadline set by the Team Leader and everything she’s trying to take on.
As she prepares for her departure, Yujin opens her laptop before bed each night to work on the handover document. The Team Leader says to hand over all the remaining work at once by her last day, and Yujin keeps adding her day-to-day tasks, making the file longer. In the counseling room, Baekho suggests separating the listed tasks from the ones that haven’t been decided yet. Yujin stops speaking at the blank field for the next person responsible.
When a handover feels overwhelming
When it feels like you have to sort out all the remaining work alone, you can look separately at what the work involves and whether someone has been assigned to it.
As your to-do list grows before you leave your job, what task comes to mind first?
The scene that stayed with me was her reopening the file before bed to add more tasks. It was the moment when even undecided work began to settle onto one person’s shoulders. If you’ve had nights like that, you can tell me about them too.
Scenes
- 01 · The day the deadline was set — The Team Leader set a handover schedule, saying they should pass on all the remaining work at once by her last day. Team Leader: Please finish the handover document by the end of this week. Yujin: Okay, I understand.

- 02 · The file after lights out — Even after turning off the lights, Yujin opens the handover document and adds the tasks she handled that day.

- 03 · The blank field — In the counseling room, Yujin showed the task list. No one had been assigned to take over yet. Baekho: Yujin, the list has grown, but no one’s been assigned to take the work over yet. Which item did you get stuck on? Yujin: It’s work I’ve been doing, so I feel like I should write it all down to the very end.

- 04 · Writing it all down — Yujin said she felt she had to write down every task to the very end. The field for the next person responsible was still blank on the screen. Baekho: Before all the Go stones are placed, there are also spaces where it hasn’t even been decided whose turn it is. Yujin: When I look at that blank field… I don’t know what else I’m supposed to do.
