I can't pick a date after the company dinner.
I have news to share with my family. Even after the company dinner, I can't bring myself to say a date out loud. My hand stops over the almanac.
Seojin can't choose a day to share the news with her family. After the company dinner, she sits in the counseling room, staring at one date in the almanac.
At the company dinner, a colleague asks when she'll tell her family the news, but Seojin puts off answering because she can't pick a date. On her way home, she opens the calendar, then closes it when a dinner invitation pops up in the family group chat. In the counseling room, Jirisan Mansin looks over the almanac dates with her and gently asks if she's trying to work out both the date and how to bring it up all at once. Seojin traces a date on the calendar with her fingertip, then pauses, still unable to choose.
Choosing a day to tell your family
If thoughts of what to say come up while choosing a date, you can look at those two things separately.
When you have something to tell your family, do you spend a long time looking at dates first?
The moment her hand stopped over the calendar as she thought about what to tell her family stayed with me. Maybe she was thinking about when to say it while trying to choose a date. If you're facing a similar moment, tell us about it.
