Whenever I parked, I picked numbers first
After getting a message asking her to take the Saturday shift, Minseo parked before anything else. Instead of replying, she started picking lottery numbers.
After receiving a message asking her to take the Saturday shift, Minseo parked and started picking lottery numbers.
Unable to answer the sudden message from work asking her to take the Saturday shift, Minseo parks her car. Picking numbers briefly puts off the decision, but as the same action continues outside her home and into the counseling room, the thing she couldn't say comes into view.
When you want to put off replying
When you find yourself looking for another action first, you can notice what that action lets you put off for a moment, rather than what it solves.
When was a time you put off replying and did something else first?
The scene of her hand still picking numbers after parking stays with me. It looks less like she was waiting for good luck and more like she was briefly putting off the moment when she had to answer. If there was a time you covered up something you needed to say with another action, tell me what you were putting off then, too.
