It Started at the Door
Right after work, Jihye placed her book by the entryway every day. Night after night, she opened the door but still couldn't begin.
Jihye promised herself she'd open her book right after work, but she could only begin at the entryway. Once she stepped inside, the promise slipped away.
Jihye tried to start studying in the entryway after work, setting down her book and bag in turn as she repeated the same routine every day. When Saebyeok asked a brief question, Jihye shared that the same thing happened elsewhere too—and once again, she began to speak at the door.
When Getting Started Keeps Being Delayed
Rather than how long you studied, first notice where you stop just before beginning. The next scene may become a little clearer.
Where do you most often stop when you're about to start studying?
Jihye, the scene of you standing your book by the entryway and still opening the door stayed with me. More than the nights you didn't study, I noticed how often you returned to the door looking for a place to begin. If you're standing before a similar door today, please tell me that story too, slowly.
Scenes
- 01 · The First Promise at the Door Open It Right Away Today — Right after work, Jihye stood her certification study book by the front door. Before even taking off her shoes, she tried to open it to one page. Jihye: Let's start right here today.

- 02 · After Opening the Door The Book Came Along — The book followed Jihye inside after she opened the door. But the book she had stood up in the entryway was pushed to the end of the table, and Jihye glanced at the clock without opening a page. Saebyeok: You were going to open the book in the entryway. Why did you stop at the table?

- 03 · Another Doorway Another Doorway — Three days later, she took the book out before even going home. This time it was the entrance to the company's underground parking garage, but the book went back into her bag. Jihye: I can do it when I get home.

- 04 · The Night Her Words Caught at the Threshold At the Door Again — That night, Jihye sat in the entryway again. When her right hand stopped before opening the book, she looked at the closed door and spoke first. Jihye: Why do I keep trying to start only here?
