Dreaming that a promotion puts you in your manager’s seat - dream meaning with inherited lore

Dreaming that a promotion puts you in your manager’s seat can reflect both the desire to be recognized and the complicated feeling that existing relationships might change.

You sit where your manager used to sit at your desk or in a meeting room, while your former manager sits somewhere else. The scene may continue with you looking at each other awkwardly or with you giving new instructions.

Korean lore: Traditionally, scenes where you switch places with someone above you have sometimes been interpreted as a change in status or role. They are also seen as dreams about a shift in the order of close relationships, so they are often read as holding both opportunity and burden. (In folk dream interpretations, movement in position and rank has often been understood as a scene symbolizing changes in social standing and personal relationships.)

Through the mind: You may have this dream when you want recognition from your manager or hope to take a more leading position in your current workplace relationships. It may also hold the worry of how you will get along with the people around you once you have real authority.
