Dreaming you return to your old role after a promotion - dream meaning with inherited lore
Returning to a familiar role after a promotion may reflect a struggle between wanting more responsibility and feeling comfortable where you are.
You’re promoted and take on a new job, then somehow find yourself back in your old role and at your old desk. You feel relieved by what’s familiar, or disappointed to be back where you started.
Korean lore: Promotion has traditionally been interpreted as a change in social standing or role. Returning to your former job in the ending may suggest that change is bringing you back to a familiar order. (This interpretation draws on folk readings that connect promotion with changes in role.)
Through the mind: You may be glad for the chance to take on more responsibility, while still wanting to hold on to your current sense of stability. Whether you felt relieved or disappointed when you returned may offer a clue to what matters most to you right now.
