Choose your first action on the subway to work
This story is for anyone who chooses a plan first because they want to make the most of each day on the way to work.
Scenes
- The day ends while I’m listing what to do — As soon as I sit on the subway, I write down what I need to do today. But by the time I reach work, I’m choosing again from the first line.
- I take longer because I want to start well — Wanting to start well becomes so strong that I finish the plan before I act. So my hands move even later.
- I miss my stop while choosing the first line — At 8:10 a.m., three tasks are written in my notepad. I still haven’t chosen the first one by the time I get off.
- Action comes before mood — Positive action isn’t moving only after you’ve convinced yourself. One small movement shows the direction of your day first.
- Write tomorrow’s task as a movement of your hand — Tonight, instead of writing “organize work,” write “open one file when I arrive.” That shortens the time you spend choosing in the morning.
- Even when the list grows, the first action remains — Tomorrow, your plans may grow again. When that happens, don’t call it failure. Just choose one first action again.
