After being turned down, I keep flipping the calendar.
Even after someone turns down a request, the things you need to do are still there, and sometimes all you can do is turn the calendar pages.
Scenes
- There’s still more to do after a rejection — After my request was turned down, I flipped to a new month, but the things I had to do were still there. I just stared at the page, not knowing what to do next.
- The calendar can’t give you an answer — The date changing doesn’t mean they’ll say yes to your request. A calendar shows you the next day; it can’t decide what you’ll try next.
- A rejection is an answer to one approach — Taking positive action doesn’t mean waiting until you feel better. It means finding one thing you can do now, alongside the path that was turned down.
- Write it on the nearest blank day — Choose the nearest blank day on the calendar and note one thing you could try then. Writing it down can turn vague waiting into a more concrete choice.
- You can keep going after one rejection — Even if today’s idea doesn’t fit, a rejection doesn’t always mean the same thing. Finding another way is also a positive action.
