After the holiday, I find myself wanting to try something new.
When I get home after a family gathering, I unpack as if nothing happened, but new interests keep coming to mind.
Scenes
- That conversation stays with me, even at home. — After the family gathering, I get home and take off my coat. Then I find myself thinking again about someone’s hobby—the one they’re learning.
- Everyone talked about themselves. — At the table, my cousin said they were learning pottery after work. While doing the dishes, I asked about it again.
- Their story and my feelings overlap. — In myeongri, we look at life’s course in light of when an interest arose and the circumstances you’ve lived through. It doesn’t mean you should follow someone else’s choices.
- Keep what you want to try small. — Tonight, write down one word on the flyer that makes you curious. Notice whether you want to learn more about it or try it yourself.
- Notice what draws you back. — A new interest won’t give you an answer all at once. Still, if something keeps coming to mind after family gatherings, we can start there and look at the course of your life together.
