Today’s Story
This story is for anyone who has started a new life but still can’t easily choose even a first meetup while sitting alone in a café.
Scenes
- I can’t even set up a first meetup in my new neighborhood — Sitting alone in a café, I switch back and forth between two groups. In the end, I close the screen without choosing either one.
- I’m afraid choosing wrong means I’ll get everything wrong from the start — It feels like one first meetup will decide who I meet and how I spend my days from now on, so I keep weighing everything long before I even begin.
- I keep scrolling between two meetups — At four in the afternoon, I open two groups meeting this week, switching between them. I write down the times and distances, but in the end I don’t tap either one.
- I’m loading my whole life onto one small choice — During a major transition, I try to predict the future with a single choice. That’s why even a meetup I can change my mind about starts to feel like a major decision.
- Choose just one meetup you can change your mind about — Choose a meetup you can attend once this week and come back from, then decide the end time first. Notice whether you feel a little lighter.
- Your first meetup isn’t the answer to your new life — You may still feel hesitant after going once. That doesn’t mean you chose wrong—it means you can see more clearly what was holding you back.
