Dream of a flood caused by opened floodgates - dream meaning with inherited lore
Traditionally, this scene has sometimes been interpreted as emotions or matters held back suddenly being released all at once.
A floodgate or water barrier opens, sending powerful water rushing out. You try to close it or watch the water flow from a distance.
Korean lore: Traditionally, water bursting through a blockage has sometimes been read as long-suppressed matters coming out, or a major shift in the flow of things. It may also be seen as a scene where what was stuck begins to loosen. (In folk dream interpretations, scenes of containing and releasing water are read in connection with suppression, relief, and a shift in energy.)
Through the mind: You may have this kind of dream when words you've held back or things you've postponed can no longer stay inside. It may be a time when you need a safe way to let your feelings out, rather than pushing them away without thought.
